What is AIMS?

Acupuncture and Integrated Medicine Specialists (AIMS) is a non-profit business association dedicated to the protection, promotion,integration and advancement of acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine and the integration of these practices into the American health care system.

The AIMS family of organizations consists of two entities. AIMS, a non-profit 501(c)(6) business association, focuses primarily on education and advocacy on behalf of the acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine profession. AIMS PAC, a California political action committee, helps to elect candidates for public office who have demonstrated their support of and commitment to the profession. AIMS is helping busy practitioners in finding their political voice.

What does AIMS do?

AIMS educates and advocates on behalf of the acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine (TOM) profession through a program of direct lobbying, development of a grassroots electronic advocacy network, and facilitation of local meetings. The organization is focused on improving and enhancing the business climate for acupuncture and TOM practitioners in California.

Who started AIMS?

AIMS was founded by a group of acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine practitioners who felt that the profession was in need of an effective political voice. The founders have decades of experience in the political arena and are recognized for their successful track records working on behalf of the profession.

Who funds AIMS?

AIMS is entirely funded by its membership base and depends on this base for both financial and political strength. In addition to support from our practitioner members, AIMS is supported by patients and others who want to ensure continued access to this safe and effective medicine. You can support our work with a secure online membership contribution.

What is the AIMS PAC?

AIMS PAC, a California political action committee, helps to elect candidates for public office who have demonstrated their support of and commitment to the profession. Contributions to AIMS PAC are not tax deductible.
